The Harvesting Cover-to-Cover Reveal

To celebrate The Harvesting's win of a BRAG medallion for excellence in writing, I decided to send the book to the spa! Layla has been working hard for me so I wanted to reward her!

But seriously, I love The Harvesting's first cover. It was created by a very talented photographer to whom I am eternally grateful. The first edition cover (now worth a bunch more cash for those of you who have one) was spooky and beautiful, just like the book. I decided, however, that I wanted to re-cover the novel with something more genre-specific. Since I'm getting ready to roll out the rest of the books in the series, I decided it was time to freshen up The Harvesting's look.

I also made some changes to the interior of the book. Those of you who have the first edition will have the parallel story of Cricket and Vella called, of course, The Parallel. For some reason, some readers didn't "get" The Parallel. I'm not in the business of confusing readers. I decided to remove it from The Harvesting and will be adding to Cricket's and Vella's storyline in a novella titled Midway which I hope to get out this summer. I am switching gears from steampunk back to zombies for a bit. Time to get some work done!

New to The Harvesting?

Fans of my steampunk series may not know about my Harvesting series. So what's it all about? Here is the novel blurb:

“The world, it seemed, had gone silent. It was something we knew but did not talk about. We were alone.”

While Layla Petrovich returns home to rural Hamletville after a desperate call from her psychic grandmother, she never could have anticipated the horror of what Grandma Petrovich has foreseen. The residents of Hamletville will need Layla's cool head, fast blade and itchy trigger finger to survive the undead apocalypse that's upon them. But even that may not be enough. With mankind silenced, it soon becomes apparent that we were never alone. As the beings living on the fringe seek power, Layla must find a way to protect the ones she loves or all humanity may be lost.

This exciting new dark fantasy/horror hybrid blends the best of the zombie genre with all the elements a fantasy reader loves!

It’s all fun and games until someone ends up undead!
